I found out yesterday that my granddaughter has her first dance this coming Friday, (Feb 3), a sock hop. Her mother was taking her to the thrift store to see what kind of outfit they could come up with. Hello, Grammy Bear would so make you a poodle skirt. She said I wouldn't have enough time, huh....sounds like challenge....
I looked up poodle skirts online, then poodle appliques. I didn't have a skirt pattern and I seriously didn't have time to shop one so I pulled out the box of patterns and used the skirt part of this dress. I love vintage patterns.....
As you can see it's short, so I added 5 1/2" around the bottom.
I ran to Walmart, (WE DO NOT HAVE A PROPER FABRIC STORE HERE AT THE BEACH, ANYWHERE, the NEAREST ONE IS IN WILMINGTON. OVER AN HOUR AWAY, SO NOT RIGHT!), JOANNE, PLEASE COME TO THE BEACH!!!
Under the skirt I have an attached slip (made of costume satin, with tulle attached to make the skirt flow outward). I used the same pattern.
I came up with the leash idea...
My daughter promised me pictures, I will have them next week.
Here's the skirt I'm shipping out tomorrow....She will have it by Wed.
